Mulching pruned citrus plant in Argentina

A farming company that relies on PaTriziO and FML/ST mulchers to manage its organic crops.

Biotuc,a family-run farming company, was established in 1993 in La Cocha, in the Tucumán province of inland Argentina.

FaeStory_BIOTUC_logo.jpg The company, formally named BIO TUC SRL, specializes in the production, processing and marketing of premium agricultural products, particularly lemons, oranges, avocados and sugarcane. It also offers packaging services and cold-room storage to other companies in the agricultural sector.

This family-run enterprise was founded by Claudia Mercedes Jalil and Juan Sigstad, with the goal of promoting agricultural production while respecting nature and local traditions. Their stated mission is to offer the market organic produce of extremely high quality.

They therefore concentrated their efforts on caring for the land and protecting the environment. After years of research and, trial and error, they are now able to produce uncontaminated organic produce, free from chemicals and preservatives.

The Biotuc brand, a combination of the words "Bio" (meaning "life" in Greek) and "Tuc" (the first syllable of Tucumán, the province where the project began), perfectly expresses its mission, as does the slogan: "Biotuc: growing health by innovating".

Biotuc’s pursuit of the highest quality led them to cross paths with FAE at an international trade show, where they purchased an FAE PaTriziO forestry mulcher and an FML/ST mulcher from Recursos Orgánicos, FAE’s official distributor in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

Ignacio Foglia, the manager of Recursos Orgánicos, explains: “Biotuc’s mission is very similar to that of Recursos Orgánicos: we are a sustainable, innovative company dedicated to marketing technologies for soil optimization. We are well known on the market for the innovative, high-quality products we offer. We work both internally and with our clients to be sustainable and respectful of the environment and of society. That's why we are so thrilled about our collaboration with FAE, has allowed us to cultivated an excellent relationship with Biotuc, which has led to the purchase of two FAE models".

How exactly does Biotuc use its FAE machinery?

The two attachments, a fixed-tooth Patrizio mulcher for 50-100 horsepower tractors and an FML/ST mulcher with a swinging hammer rotor for tractors from 50-110 horsepower, are used to reduce the volume of debris left after pruning avocado, lemon and other citrus plants.

Thanks to its high-quality mulching, the PaTriziO can clear the passages and spaces between the rows of plants where pruning debris accumulates, allowing the mulched material to be reused as invaluable natural fertilizer for the soil.

Which FAE machinery features does Biotuc particularly appreciate? The client immediately mentioned the sturdiness, high-quality mulching and lengthy lifespan of these models. Moreover, the exceptional productivity of the FAE mulchers offers them the security they need to successfully take on any challenge, and to continue innovating in the production of organic foodstuff.

"Biotuc works with FAE equipment every day because it gets great results", concludes Ignacio, "which is naturally a source of great satisfaction for us as the dealer too!"
